  1. Forms and Agreements
    1. Read the Information Provider Welcome Letter.

    2. Complete the Information Provider Application.

Please note the space for an email address. You must supply a valid internet email address for people to contact your organization. You must use this or your FortNet email address(account_name@fortnet.org) on your page. You may complete the application without this information, but it will be required prior to placing your page on FortNet.

    3. Print, complete and sign the Information Provider Agreement.
If you are unable to print any of these documents, you can request that they be mailed to you by leaving a voice mail message requesting an Information Provider Packet at: (970) 224-5991

    4. Mail the application and the signed agreement to:
      FortNet
      Attn: Community Information Provider
      PO Box 270644
      Fort Collins, CO 80527-0644

    5. Once your documents have been received and approved, we will provide Community Information Providers with a telnet and ftp login account to allow you to transfer and maintain your files. We also provide you with email address forwarding from your FortNet account to the address you provided on the form(or any other address you choose to receive email for this organization). This login account provides access to our server and is not an internet access dial-up account. You must have an internet access account elsewhere.

  3. If you decide to convert your own text and graphics download:

    1. The FortNet standards to make your documents conform to FortNet's "look and feel" and document management requirements.
    2. FortNet's HTML file skeleton

  4. Submitting Your Own Documents:
    • Use your ftp account login to upload the files to your directory.
Send e-mail to htmlqa@fortnet.org indicating that there is new information to be validated and where it is.

      OR

    • Save the files (.txt, .doc, .pub, .gif, .jpg) on a PC format diskette, place the diskette in a mailer and send to:
      FortNet
      Attn: Community Information Provider
      PO Box 270644
      Fort Collins, CO 80527-0644

      OR

    • Email your content to the volunteer assigned to your project. Contact the FortNet office at 224-5991 for your volunteer's email address.

Once these steps are completed, FortNet's quality assurance(QA) team will validate that all links work properly, and check that the information conforms to FortNet's standards.

Someone from the quality assurance team will send a confirmation of your submission. If you wish, the HTML Team can make the minor changes necessary for your pages to comply with FortNet's HTML standards.

If you wish to hire someone to convert your information, you may look in the Business section of FortNet, contact Dave Colliton at 224-5991, or communicate via email: provider@fortnet.org.

If you hire a contractor to develop your web pages, they should be able to help you follow FortNet's procedures (completing application, signing the agreement, complying with the HTML standards, etc).
